Children who join Tchou Tchou daycare are divided into 2 age groups, in order to respect rhythm and needs of each one. 10 people are looking after the 2 groups, including between 30 and 40 children. French is the main language but English and Khmer are also frequently used by animators on children’s arrival, to facilitate their integration.
In the daycare, children are invited to participate in creation activities (painting, cutting, gluing, modeling …), physical activities (motor ability, outdoor games), music workshops (listening, singing, instruments using), which stimulate their intellectual and motor abilities. Kids have access to many educational games and also a library.
They evolve in a safe and wide open air area, which offers a lot of different activities: there are several shacks, a big sandbox and many games.
Tchou Tchou nursery’s animators pay special attention to children’s individual valorization, a key point in self-confidence development. Each child is unique and is treated as well!
Tchou Tchou currently greets children in all 3 kindergarten levels in French or bilingual French/English. There are two kindergarten 1 ( K1 ) classes, two kindergarten 2 ( K 2 ) classes, and two kindergarten 3 ( K 3 ) classes.
The goal of activities which are proposed is to permit children to become autonomous and to acquire knowledge and skills which will constitute essential bases to enter primary school.
The main objective of kindergarten is the acquisition of a rich oral language: children progressively learn to express themselves and to exchange with each other. Games, researches, free or guided production activities contribute to the building of their personality and awakening.
Inside classroom, kids are invited to gradually support themselves: to act in a responsible manner, to manage their own needs, to respect each other and be aware of the value of everyone are fundamental components of learning.
Within bilingual classes, courses are given alternatively in French and in English (by French or English native speakers), but they always follow the French National Education program.
Tchou Tchou currently greets children in the 3 first’s primary school levels:
Teachers qualified from French National Education, are in charge of classes from 10 to 15 students. Those little numbers of students permit an individual follow-up of all children in reading and writing learning process.
English lessons are proposed, they are optional, 3 afternoons per week in continuity of kindergarten bilingual classes.
For Khmer speaking children, learning of writing and reading of Khmer language is proposed, in option too.
